In alignment with the Singapore Green Plan 2030, Hua Yi’s Eco-Stewardship Programme empowers students to take action towards environmental sustainability. Guided by the 4C framework (Curriculum, Community, Campus and Culture), the programme aims to nurture students’ interest in the environment and cultivate eco-friendly habits.
Environmental awareness is promoted through the annual Earth Week programme, morning assembly talks and recycling initiatives. The programme also engages staff in adopting sustainable practices, fostering a school-wide culture of environmental responsibility.
Environmental Ambassadors have opportunities to lead and participate in key initiatives such as HYClean, Bring Your Own Cutleries Day and the Dengue Awareness Campaign. They also deepen their knowledge and develop practical skills through workshops and competitions, including the in-house edible garden workshop.
Ultimately, the programme seeks to inspire every Hua Yian to appreciate the environment, protect our planet and contribute to a more sustainable future.
