Sports and Games
Sports participation plays a significant role in students’ character development and holistic education. Hua Yi has a long history of sporting excellence, with our volleyball girls attaining 2nd runner-up in the 2025 West Zone B Division Girls & 2025 National B Division Girls Volleyball Championships and our Football Boys emerging as Champions in the 2025 National B Division Boys League 4 Championship.
Primary 6 students with a flair for Badminton, Basketball, Football, Netball, Track & Field or Volleyball can seek admission to Hua Yi through the DSA-Sec Exercise. DSA students will be given comprehensive support to develop their ability and interests in taking up leadership roles, and to achieve a well-rounded education in Hua Yi.

Programme
DSA students will be given comprehensive support to develop their ability and interests in taking up leadership roles, and to achieve a well-rounded education in Hua Yi.

Criteria
Students should submit as part of their application documents that attest to their experience and commitment to their sport in their Primary Schools.
Students should possess personal qualities and strengths that are indicative of their potential to be a member of a school sports team. This can be demonstrated using their CCA or VIA records, a personal statement and character referees.
Shortlisted students will be invited to participate in a Sports trials conducted by school staff, followed by an interview to determine if they will be a good fit for the school.
The trials are conducted based on the sports-specific skills.
Badminton: Service, Returning Shot & Footwork
Basketball: Passing, Dribbling, Shooting & Lay-Up
Football: Passing, Dribbling & Shooting
Netball: Passing, Shooting & Footwork
Track & Field: Sprints, Distance Running
Volleyball: Service, Setting & Spiking
